Screenshots from program. Assessment of the Sleepy Patient: A Virtual Clinic

(No CME credit available.)

This program, based on the "Virtual Practicum" model, is intended for health care providers who may encounter patients who present with problem sleepiness.

Dr. Michael Sateia is your host and mentor as you counsel and assist a simulated patient, Mr. Adams, who has presented to the ER after falling asleep while driving. In addition to teaching basic information on sleep disorders, the program contains instructions on the diagnosis, management, and treatment of problem sleepiness. The program includes a series of encounters with your patient, case discussions which go over the important points from each patient visit, and lectures and activities teaching a variety of topics relating to sleep disorders.

This program, unlike IML's other programs, was constructed entirely using Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Flash, and can be played in a browser using Adobe's free Flash Player.
